Yesterday, speaking with a colleague of my sister’s I mentioned that Egypt had hardly featured in the news in India. While it is hidden away in op-ed section, I’m still pleased that Egypt’s plight is coming to light in India. On Facebook, online activists have been posting about the image above, videos of the same and YouTube recordings of various talk shows covering the events of the last few days. Protestors are largely individuals outraged by the happenings in town, and their fragmented nature both aids and hampers their cause. Because they’re fragmented, there is no centralized target for the SCAF forces to attack. And for the same reason, there is no easy possibility for negotiation or arbitration.
